What the speed check covers

Server response time

How long your server takes to answer, measured from our scanner on every page it fetches.

Compression & caching

Whether pages are compressed and send cache headers so repeat visits are faster.

HTTP version & redirects

Whether the server supports HTTP/2 or newer, and how many redirect hops a page needs.

Render-blocking resources

Scripts and stylesheets in the page head that can delay the first paint.

Image dimensions

Images missing width and height, a common cause of layout jumps.

Part of one unified scan

Speed is one part of a CheckSitePulse scan — the same scan also covers SEO and security, so you get one prioritized fix list instead of switching between tools.

What this does not measure: Timings are taken with a server-side request from our scanner, not a real browser, so they are not Core Web Vitals and do not include rendering time. Core Web Vitals come from a separate Google PageSpeed test of the start page (see the Core Web Vitals checker). Image file sizes and total page weight are not measured.
